preheat oven to 375 F.
List of Ingredients
1 quart milk
1/2 C butter
1 C grits
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 pkg (6 wedges) Gruyere cheese
1/4 C butter
Parmesan cheeseRecipe
Bring milk to a boil, add the half cup of butter and Gruyere cheese, broken up and chopped fine. Gradually add grits and continue boiling until thick.
Remove from heat and beat hard for 5 minutes. Pour into a greased casserole and cool. Melt the quarter cup butter and pour over the grits. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese to taste. Bake half an hour.
