1 C rice
4 C water
1 tsp salt
2 T sugar
1/4 C butter
1 C cream, whipped


Recipe



Steam the rice until tender in the water with salt. Remove from heat. Add butter and sugar. Fold in whipped cream. Serve as a dessert, either cold or warm.
This is the traditional rice pudding dessert used during Christmas. An almond is hidden in the porridge, and as the story goes, the one finding it will be the next one in the group to get married.
