List of Ingredients
1/2 C butter
1/2 C sugar
4 egg yolks
5 T butter
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/8 C flour
1 tsp vanillaRecipe
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk. Add flavoring. Spread batter in 2 greased cake tins and cover with meringue. Bake at 300 degrees F. for 45 minutes. Let cool before removing from tins.
Meringue;
4 egg whites
1 C sugar, added slowly
When ready to serve put layers together with whipped cream. Spread whipped cream over top and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
