Mosto Cotto (grape syrup)

1 qt unsweetened white grape juice
2 T dark brown sugar
1/4 raisins
1/4 C prunes
2 T balsamic vinegarRecipe
Place the grape juice, brown sugar and fruit in a wide pot. Add the fruit and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer to a thick syrup, (About 1 cup). This will take about 1 1/4 -1 1/2 hours. Add the balsamic vinegar and simmer another 15 minutes. Cool
Strain in a colander, pushing on the fruit with the back of a spoon.
Will keep at least 2 months in fridge.
Use the fruit over ice cream, etc ....
