Asparagus with Pistachio and Lemon

1 T olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 C chopped pistachios
1 lb asparagus
1 T lemon juice
black pepper (opt)

Snap the tough stem ends off of the asparagus. Heat the oil over medium heat until just hot. Saute the garlic about 1 minute. Add the pistachios and remove from heat.
Steam the trimmed asparagus until bright green, tender and crisp, 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a serving dish.
Stir the lemon juice into the pistachios and pour this over the asparagus. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
