    Chili Rellenos, Baked

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 (10 oz) can whole green chilis, or 12 fresh roasted and peeled.
    • 1 4 inch by 1/2 by 1/2 inch piece of pepper jack cheese
    • 12 strips of turkey 1/2 by 1/2by length to fit in chilies
    • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
    • 1/2 c flour
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • salt to taste
    • 1/2 C crab liquer ( saved from canned crab)
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 C grated cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 C grated mozzarella cheese


    Instructions


    1. Oil a 11x7x1 1/2 inch casserole dish. Stuff the chilies with a strip of turkey.

    2. Cut the cheese in half lengthwise, then in half crosswise. Then cut each piece in half lengthwise again. Stuff cheese into chili.Place the chilies in the casserole dish.

    3. Combine the dry ingredients. Whisk milk and eggs. Slowly beat into dry ingredients. Add bell pepper and pour the batter over chilies. Bake at 450 degrees F for 15 minutes.

    4. Grate the cheddar and mozzarella and sprinkle over top of casserole. Reheat for one minute to melt cheese.
