6 cabbage leaves
1 lb. Italian bulk sausage
1 egg
2 T grated onion
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp ground basil
1/2 tsp thyme
1 clove minced garlic
salt to taste
pepper to taste
6 slices prosciutto
1 16oz can Italian diced tomatoes
Parma-Romano cheese
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put cabbage leaves in large pot of boiling water. Boil 2-3 minutes until leaves are limp. Lay on paper towels to drain.
In medium bowl, mix sausage, egg, onion, garlic, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Divide into 6 portions and roll into oblong sausages.
Wrap each sausage with a prosciutto slice. Place in center of cabbage leaf and wrap. Place fold-side down in baking dish.
Pour tomatoes over top. Fill can half-full of water and pour around sides and between each cabbage roll.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes. Turn off oven and let sit for 15 minutes. Serve hot.
Sprinkle with Parma-Romano cheese if desired.
