    Best Vegetable Batter

    This is wonderful for mushrooms, onions (sweet like Vidalia, etc.), zucchini, etc. I always use my Fry-Daddy to cook these in. I can make a meal out of the mushrooms and onion rings...mmm, mmm, good!

    List of Ingredients

    3/4 cup cornstarch
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. fresh ground pepper
    1/2 cup water
    1 egg -- lightly beaten

    Recipe

    In a bowl, stir together first 5 ingredients.

    Add water and egg, stir until smooth.

    Dip and coat vegetables and fry in hot oil (375 deg.) atleast 2-3 minutes, turning once, until golden brown.

    Drain on paper towels and season with salt, if desired.
