Carmelitas
A rich and yummy bar cookie made with chocolate, nuts, caramel sauce, etc.
List of Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup quick cooking oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup melted or softened butter
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease a 11x8 or 9x9 inch pan.
Combine the 1 cup flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
Add butter and mix to combine, mixture will be crumbly.
Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes.
Remove pan from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped nuts over the crust.
Mix the caramel ice cream topping with the 3 tablespoons of flour and drizzle over the chocolate chips.
Top with the remaining oatmeal mixture.
Bake for 15 minutes to 20 minutes.
Let bars COOL before cutting into small squares.
