    Favorite Pumpkin Dessert

    This is my favorite pumpkin dessert to serve at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    List of Ingredients

    Crust:
    1 -18.25 oz. box yellow cake mix -- (reserve 1 cup for topping)
    1/2 cup butter -- melted
    1 large egg -- lightly beaten

    Filling:
    2 -15 oz. cans pumpkin puree-- not pie filling
    2 large eggs
    2/3 cup milk or evaporated milk
    1/2 cup light brown sugar -- packed
    2 1/2 - 3 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

    Topping:
    1 cup reserved cake mix
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 cup butter

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Reserve 1 cup of cake mix for the topping. Combine crust ingredients together and press into a 9x13 pan.

    In a bowl, mix filling ingredients together. Pour over crust.

    For topping, mix reserved cake mix, sugar, and cinnamon together. Cut in butter. Sprinkle over filling.

    Bake for 45 to 55 minutes. Take out and let cool.

    Chill until serving time. Cut into squares and serve with
    Cool Whip or whipped cream.
