    Pumpkin Apple Butter

    Source of Recipe

    Libby's Pumpkin

    Recipe Introduction

Yummy and so easy to make. Not too sweet and not too spicy. I think it would make a nice food gift during the holidays, especially if you presented it with homemade bread. Surprisingly, the apple didn't disintegrate into the pumpkin butter, so I whirled it in my food processor a bit after it was done cooking.

    List of Ingredients

    1 can (15 oz.) LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
1 cup apple, peeled and grated (I think I used a Braeburn?)
1 cup Apple NESTLÉ® JUICY JUICE® All Natural 100% Juice (I think apple cider would also be good)
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (I also added a little extra cinnamon and fresh nutmeg)

    Recipe

COMBINE pumpkin, apple, apple juice, sugar and pumpkin pie spice in medium, heavy- duty saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 1/2 hours or so. Cool.

Serve with buttermilk biscuits, breads, corn muffins or hot cereal. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 2 months.

    Recipe makes 3 cups.
