Apple Broccoli Slaw

This is tangy and delicious. It's great served with BBQ pork sandwiches.
List of Ingredients
Vinaigrette:
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 1/2 T. vegetable oil
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. freshly ground black pepper
Slaw:
2 1/2 cups unpeeled, chopped Pink Lady or other sweet apple
1 pkg. broccoli slaw -- (12 oz.)
1 (3 oz.) pkg. dried tart cherries (can also use craisins but it's best with cherries. sometimes I'll throw in some craisins with the cherries though) -- (about 2/3 cup)
2 T. sunflower seed kernels -- (2 to 3 T.)Recipe
To prepare vinaigrette, combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well with a whisk.
To prepare slaw, combine apple, broccoli slaw, and dried cherries. Drizzle with vinaigrette, toss well to combine. Sprinkle with sunflower seeds, chill for up to 3 hours.
Yield: 8 servings; serving size 1 cup

NOTES : The magazine also says Cameo, Fuji, or Gala apples will also work well.
