QUICK NUT BREAD

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Sift into bowl:
2 c. flour
1/3 c. white or 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Melt and cool slightly 2 TBS. butter. Beat 1 egg until light. Beat with the egg 1 cup milk.
Add melted butter, cooled slightly. Beat liquid ingredients into sifted ones until well-mixed. Fold in 3/4c. coarsely chopped nuts of your choice.
Place dough in greased bread pan and bake for 40 minutes.
