Recipe Introduction
This is my mother's recipe, a family favorite and traditionally served at Christmas. Several friends call these Pecan Crescents or Frosties. Mom recommends you do NOT
double the recipe, but make in separate batches.
List of Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter or margarine
4 TBS. powdered sugar
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 TBS. vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
Recipe
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cream butter and sugar. In another bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to creamed butter, stirring to blend. Add vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Roll into finger-size shapes or drop by spoon onto parchment paper on cookie sheets. Bake until golden brown, about 10 - 15 minutes. When cooled, roll in powdered sugar.
Makes about 4 to 5 dozen cookies, depending on size.
