    ALMOST Sugar Free Kool Aid

    List of Ingredients

Everyone knows about Sugar Free Kool Aid and non Sugar Free Kool Aid. What some do not know is that Non Sugar free Kool Aid is one of the least expensive soft drinks to make and it is low in carbohydrates if sugar is NOT Added.

Instead, a natural artificial sweetener such as powdered STEVIA extract can be used. But before using such an ingredient CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR about whether or not you should use this powder made from the leaves of a South American Plant

Stevia extract has been used in Japan now for over 10 years and there are many claims that it is a 'healthy' sweetener (although I have not had bad experiences with Nutrasweet its 'patented' rival). Stevia is purported to lower blood pressure and some health food purists consider it quite safe to take in regular dosage each day since it has been used for more than 1000 years by the tribes of South American jungles. It is also used as a skin balm for speeding up wounds in healing (according to natives).

I use this product on a daily basis, adding 3/4 teaspoon to 2 quarts of water and adding a small packet of Kool Aid without sugar. The Stevia powdered extract is quite expensive, selling for 10 dollars for a small bottle, but it is 100 times more concentrated in sweetness than Nutrasweet.

    Recipe

1 2 quart jug of Ice cold water
1 'demitasse spoon' of powdered Stevia (or more to taste)
1 packet Kool Aid (any flavour)

Put all ingredients in a jug, then use an electric hand held mixer to blend. Such a device is a necessity for those who wish to mix this drink correctly and quite quickly.

Alternatively you can attempt to make this in a blender and then thin out since most blenders do not have a 2 quart capacity jug.
