Iced Tea
Recipe Introduction
A very necessary cold drink for those who return home from
the food bank and lust for something to quench their thirst
List of Ingredients
- Teabags (needed)
- Water (needed)
- Lemon Juice (Optional - needed))
- Sugar (Optional - needed)
- Artificial Sweetener (Optional - needed)
- A VERY LARGE MASON JAR (NEEDED!)
Instructions
- Fill a teapot or kettle with water and bring to a boil.
Remove from stove/unplug and pour into room temperature
mason jar. Add teabags and let steep to desired colour. Let cool before touching Mason Jar, or use
insulated gloves to transfer into fridge.
Once cold add ice cubes, lemon juice
and/or sweetener to taste.
- Variations include using herbal teas such as 'FruitMixture', Orange, Strawberry, Black Currant teas
- Try to have 3 or four mason jars with various flavoured teas in your refrigerator for variety.
- Note, tea can be drunk 'HOT' just after steeping if you desire.
Final Comments
Tea like Coffee, contains a form of CAFFEINE called
'THEINE' which might disturb you or keep you awake at
night. Therefore it is suggested that you use decaf tea
as much as possible. Coffee can be subsituted in the
above method, but this requires a different method of
steeping.
