    Hash browns

The venerable potato is known for its ability to provide protein, carbohydrates and vegetable matter all in one place. Hash browns are a nice change in side dishes after eating too many baked potatoes. Here is a very basic recipe.

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 Medium potatoes (needed)
    • 1 tbs Onion salt (or more to taste) Needed
    • Dash of black pepper (needed)

    Instructions

    1. Peel and grate two potatoes (preferably with a food processor)
    2. In a medium skillet heat 1/4 cup vegetable oil or margarine at medium high. Add shredded potatoes and stir until they brown slightly, dusting with onion salt as you stir. When 1/2 of potatoes seem browned, press down on them with a spatula to form a pancake. Brown, turn over and brown until crisp. Serve for breakfast or as a main course side dish.
