    Baked Apple Dumplings


    List of Ingredients


    • 6 medium apples
    • 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
    • 1 1/2 Cups water
    • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
    • 3 Tbsp Butter
    • extra cinnamon, nutmeg and butter (Goes into the center of the apple
    • Pastry for a 2 crust pie


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 375.
    2. Combine water, sugar and spices. Bring to a boil and stir til sugar is disolved. Remove from heat and add the butter.
    3. Roll out your dough and cut into 5 - 6 inch square. Place apple in center of the square. Fill the center of the cored apple with cinnamon, nutmeg and a pat of butter.
    4. Moisten the edges of the dough with water and bring up the corners to surround the apple. Seal the dough.
    5. Place 2 inches apart in ungreased pan.
    6. Pour the liquid mixture over the dumplings and sprinkle with sugar.
    7. Bake about 35 minutes or til the apples are tender.
      (Insert a knife into a apple to see if it is tender)
