Baked Apple Dumplings
List of Ingredients
- 6 medium apples
- 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
- 1 1/2 Cups water
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 3 Tbsp Butter
- extra cinnamon, nutmeg and butter (Goes into the center of the apple
- Pastry for a 2 crust pie
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Combine water, sugar and spices. Bring to a boil and stir til sugar is disolved. Remove from heat and add the butter.
- Roll out your dough and cut into 5 - 6 inch square. Place apple in center of the square. Fill the center of the cored apple with cinnamon, nutmeg and a pat of butter.
- Moisten the edges of the dough with water and bring up the corners to surround the apple. Seal the dough.
- Place 2 inches apart in ungreased pan.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the dumplings and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake about 35 minutes or til the apples are tender.
