Clam Chowder
This is a very easy chowder to make. It is made with canned clams. But, It tastes GREAT!! Even my kids like it.
This is one of the 1st recipes I made from my MOM!
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 lb bacon
- 1 lg onion (chopped)
- 1 tsp thyme
- 2 qts water
- 1 lg can crushed tomatoes
- 4 stalks celery (chopped)
- 1 lb carrotts (chopped)
- 6 large potatoes (peeled and cubed)
- 5 ckn boullion cubes
Instructions
- cut bacon into cubes and brown in a large pot. Add onion and cook til onion is tender. Stir in thyme. Add water, tomatoes, celery. carrotts and ckn cubes.
- Boil for 1/2 hr.
- Add potatoes and add more water about 4 cups.
- Cook for 20 - 30 min til potatoes are done.
- Add 2 cans chopped clams with liquid.
- Cook for 10 minutes longer. Add salt and pepper if desired.
