    Best Ever Beef Brisket

    Source of Recipe

20 Minute Masterpieces from United Supermarkets pg 13 (1998)

    List of Ingredients

    6 pounds beef brisket (trimmed)
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion salt
    1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
    1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
    1 1/2 teaspoons celery salt
    2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

    SAUCE:, *see Note
1/2 cup sugar, white or brown
1 cup barbecue sauce (recipe suggests Kraft)
1 cup broth (from cooked brisket)
    1 cup Russian salad dressing

    Recipe

Mix seasonings and Worcestershire sauce together and rub into meat. (I also ad 2-3 drops liquid smoke) Wrap meat tightly in heavy duty aluminum foil. Place in a 9x13" Pyrex or roaster. Cook 7-8 hrs at 275°.

Take out of oven and remove from foil. Reserve 1 cup broth for sauce; discard remaining broth. Trim any fat, slice brisket and return to pan. Mix together ingredients for sauce; pour over brisket slices and bake at 300° for another hour.

NOTES: Though this is a very good sauce I find it rather sweet so I use my own BBQ or Walden Farms (Original or Thick n' Spicy BBQ sauce) w/ 1 cup broth added to it.
