    1 6 oz pkg zwieback toast
    4 tablespoons amaretto
    6 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
    1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
    1 1/4 cups finely chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Place pieces of toast on waxed paper. Spoon 1/2 tsp amaretto evenly over each piece of toast. Let stand 1 minute. In a small saucepan, melt chocolate and shortening over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Holding each piece of toast over saucepan, spoon chocolate over one-half of toast. Roll chocolate covered end of toast in pecans. Return toast to waxed paper. Allow chocolate to harden. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
