Easy Apple Dumplings

1 large Granny Smith Apple
1 can crescent rolls (8 rolls)
1 stick butter - NO substitutes!
1 cup apple juice or apple cider
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Freshly grated nutmeg for topping - opt
Recipe
Grease one 9x11 pyrex dish with spray. Preheat oven 350. Slice apple in 8 even slices removing seeds. Wrap each slice with a crescent roll. Place all rolls in the pyrex dish.
Melt butter, add apple juice, cinnamon and sugar. Heat this until mixed well and then pour the mixture evenly over the rolls.
Bake covered with foil for 30 minutes to prevent browning too much, then remove foil and continue to bake for 15 more minutes. Serve hot.
