    Cinnamon Sugar "Cake"

    Source of Recipe

    Lynda McCormick

    Recipe Introduction

This makes EITHER a great dessert OR breakfast! I've been making this ever since my girls were toddlers........young and old alike will enjoy this!

    List of Ingredients

    CAKE
3/4 cup skim milk, or buttermilk
4 tablespoons butter, soften to room temp
    1 egg
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup flour, possibly more - see note
    2 teaspoons yeast

    TOPPING
    1/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar or white sugar
    2 teaspoons cinnamon

    Recipe

Place all ingredients for "cake" into pan according to your manufacturer's instructions. Set for DOUGH cycle.

Remove dough from pan & let rest for 10 minutes. Shape it to fit a 14" pizza pan & top with melted butter, then sugar/cinnamon mixture. Let dough rise for 15 minutes - it will become slightly puffy. Bake in a PREHEATED 375° oven for 15 - 18 minutes or until it's brown & bubbly. Serve warm. Serves about 6-8

    Notes:
*Look at the dough as it is mixing because I always have to add MORE flour (too wet) than called for - up to 2 cups sometimes.

VARIATIONS: Mix in with the cinnamon/sugar mixture some pecans, walnuts, raisins, craisins or a combination of both. Also after topping with sugar/cinnamon mixture I've added sliced, peeled apples & when in season peaches. Use your imagination and you have great breakfast OR desseert recipe here!
