FRENCH TOAST: Eggnog French Toast Sticks

8 slices French bread or sourdough, sliced 1" thick
1 cup eggnog, or homemade eggnog
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup butter or margarine, divided
sifted powdered sugar
Recipe
Cut french bread slices into 1-inch-wide strips. Set bread aside. Combine eggnog and nutmeg in a shallow bowl. Preheat griddle to 350 degrees; melt 2 Tbsp butter on griddle. Dip bread slices in eggnog mixture, one at a time. Cook, a few at a time, 2 to 4 minutes on each side or until golden, adding additional 2 tbsp butter to griddle as needed. Sprinkle French Toast lightly with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with maple syrup.
