French Toast Casserole

List of Ingredients
1 French bread loaf (10 oz) or Italian bread
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract (1 to 1.5)
8 eggs
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups skim milk
2 tablespoons light butter, slivered
6 teaspoons sugarRecipe
Grease 9x13 baking pan. Slice bread into 1 inch slices & place in a single layer in bottom of pan. (You may have to squish them in) Combine eggs, milk, sugar, salt, vanilla & cinnamon in a large bowl. Pour this mixture over the sliced bread, cover & refrigerate overnight. Next A.M., uncover & preheat oven to 350. Dot the casserole with butter. Bake until the casserole is light brown & puffy - about 40 - 45 mintues. Let stand for 5 min before serving. My family loves this with syrup, but others have served this powdered sugar or fruit.
