    CAKE:
    1 1/2 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 can crushed pineapple in juice (15-16 oz)
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    TOPPING:
    1 stick butter
    1 cup sugar
    3/4 cup evaporated milk (1 small can)
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 cup coconut, flaked
    1 cup pecans, chopped

    CAKE: Mix sugar, eggs, pineapple (w/ juice), vanilla, flour, salt & baking soda. (batter will be sort of thick) Pour into greased 13x9" pan and bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes.

    TOPPING: Combine butter, sugar and evaporated milk in saucepan and bring to a slow boil. Boil for 5-6 minutes, then remover from heat and add remaining ingredients. Pour topping over hot cake. Topping will soak into the cake with nuts/coconut staying on top. Let cake with topping cool completely at room temp before serving. Keep refrigerated. Served 12-16
