Christmas Dump Cake

List of Ingredients




1 can whole cranberries -- (16 oz.)
1 can apple pie filling -- (21 oz.)
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick butter -- melted
1/2 cup chopped nuts -- pecans, walnuts, almonds or granola


Recipe



Heat oven to 325 degrees. Dump cranberries into an ungreased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Dump apple pie filling into pan. Spread mixture evenly and spread dry cake mix on top. Cut up butter and dot top of cake. Sprinkle nuts and/or granola over cake. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.


My Notes: I only used 1/2 stick butter the 2nd time I made this - thouhgt 1 stick was too much.. Also you can slice (thinly) butter and lay it on top of the dry cake mixture, then bake for 1 hour. I found that white cake mix makes a better "presentation" And spice cakes mix makes a nice change.
