This cake tastes best the day after it's been baked. A VERY moist cake, freezes well.
List of Ingredients
5 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
5 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
BATTER
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup canola oil
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup orange juice
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350°F
Mix apples, 5 tbsp sugar and cinnamon together in a large bowl and set aside.
BATTER: Sift first 3 ingredients together. Mix in remaining ingredients (batter will be thick). Grease and flour pan - one 13x9" or two 8x8" pans. Pour a little bit of batter into pan(s) and add a layer of apples; repeat until finished. Bake in a preheated oven for 1 hour
