    SHORTBREAD: Caramel Shortbread

    Anjelica Huston's Caramel Shortbread

    List of Ingredients

    1 box pure butter shortbread triangles (5.3-ounce)
    20 soft caramel candies, unwrapped
    1 tablespoon whole milk
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
    1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

    Recipe

    Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place triangles on cookie sheet, spacing evenly apart. Combine caramels and milk in small microwavable bowl. Melt in microwave on medium power for 1 1/2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, or until smooth. Drizzle melted caramel over shortbread. Cool caramel slightly, then sprinkle with walnuts. Gently press walnuts into caramel. Melt chocolate morsels in microwave on medium power for 2 1/2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, or until melted and smooth. Dip shortbread into melted chocolate, covering half of each shortbread. Set shortbread aside on prepared cookie sheet until chocolate is firm. Store in airtight container at room temperature. Makes 16 pieces
