List of Ingredients
2 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts (mom used walnuts but I prefer pecans)
1 cup pitted dates, finely cut
1/3 cup candied cherries (red) finely chopped
2 2/3 cups corn flakes, crushed to measure
1 1/3 cups
15 candied cherries (red) cut into quarters
Recipe
Stir together flour, baking powder & salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl beat butter & sugar until light & fluffy. Add eggs. Beat well. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add flour mixture. Mix well. Stir in nuts, dates and chopped cherries. Using a level measuring tablespoon, shape dough into balls. Roll in crushed corn flakes. Place about 2" apart on greased cookie sheets. Top each with cherry quarter. Bake in a 375° oven for about 10 minutes, until lightly browned. Remove immediately from baking sheets & cool on wire racks. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
