    Moravian Christmas Cookies

    BH&G Christmas Cookies 1998

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup molasses
    1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
    1/4 cup butter (no substitutes), melted
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
    1/8 teaspoon ground allspice

    Recipe

    Stir together molasses and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Stir in melted
    butter. Stir in flour, cinnamon, baking soda, ginger, cloves, pepper, mustard
    and allspice til well combined.

    Divide dough in half. Cover and chill for 1-2 hours or until easy to handle.
    Roll each portion of the dough on a lightly-floured surface until 1/16"
    thick. Cut with a floured 2" scalloped round cutter. Place on a greased
    cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 5-6 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Transfer to wire racks to cool. Makes 60
