    List of Ingredients




    1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz)
    1 box yellow cake mix (18.25 oz)
    1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
    1/3 cup chopped walnuts, optional

    Recipe



    Place pie filling in crockpot. Combine dry cake mix and butter (mixture will be crumbly). Sprinkle over filling. Sprinkle with walnuts if desired. Cover and cook on LOW for 2-3 hours. Serve in bowls. (great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!) Makes 10-12 servings.


    MY NOTES:

    I like to make the original recipe and add a few drops of almond extract to the cherry pie filling (someone's suggestion) and use almonds.....YUM! I've also made this with apple pie filling, spice cake mix & pecans and using a lemon cake mix, blueberry pie filling & almonds -- both equally yummy too!

    This is also good using a pineapple pie filling, carrot cake mix & pecans/walnuts!
