    Recipe Introduction

After living over in England for a few years, my family has a passion for afternoon teas, so when I saw this recipe I knew it was for us! Brew up a pot of Earl Grey or English Breakfast and have yourself your own afternoon tea!

    List of Ingredients

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees (F).

    2. Mix together:

    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar

    3. Add:

    3 eggs lightly beaten
    1/2 t. cinnamon
    1/2 t. nutmeg
    1/4 t. cardamom

    4. Combine:

    6 T. buttermilk
    1 scant t. baking soda

    5. Add to butter mixture.

    6. Add gradually, in small amounts:

    5 c. flour

    7. When dough is mixed, it may be rolled out and cut into shapes, or dropped by teaspoons onto a baking sheet.

    8. Bake at 400 degrees (F) for 10 minutes or until just browned.

Makes about 9 1/2 dozen cookies. Recipe may be halved.
