    ITALIAN: How to Roast Chestnuts

    This how my Nonna would make these every Christmas season. The chestnuts along with fennel would be our last course ......Enjoy this wonderful treat!

    I put an X on each chestnut, then put them onto a heavy baking sheet -- single layer, sprinkled a little water over them and roasted (about 1 1/2 lbs) in a 375° oven for about 30 - 35 minutes till they curl a bit. When they're done take a kitchen towel (double folded) and put the hot chestnuts in it. Press lightly until they all crack, this'll make it easier to peel, then eat!
