6 c pitted tart red cherries
1-3/4 c sugar
1/3 c quick-cooking tapioca
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c orange juice (add more if needed during cooking)
2 T. butter
1-1/2 c quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c butter
Recipe
Place cherries in your electric slow cooker; sprinkle with sugar, tapioca, lemon rind and salt; toss lightly to mix; stir in orange juice and butter; cover. Cook on LOW 6 hours or HIGH 3 hours. Combine oatmeal, brown sugar and butter in a small bowl to make a crumb topping. Spoon cherry mixture into dessert dishes and sprinkle with topping. Makes 6 servings.
