- 4 PKGS. YEAST
- 2 TBLSP. SUGAR
- 1 CUP WARM WATER
- 12 LARGE EGGS (BEATEN WELL)
- 1/2 TSP. SALT
- 4 TSP. WHITE VANILLA
- 1/4 CUP LEMON JUICE
- 3 STICKS BUTTER/MARGARINE ~MELTED
- 1 1/2 CUPS SUGAR
- 1 CUP ORANGE JUICE
- 8 OR 9 CUPS FLOUR
Instructions
- IN SMALL BOWL COMBINE: YEAST 2 TBLSP., SUGAR AND MIX DRYADD 1 CUP WARM WATER.
- IN LARGE BOWL COMBINE12 EGGS (ROOM TEMP) BEATEN WELL BY HAND, 1/2 TSP. SALT AND 1/4 CUP LEMON JUICE.
- MELT BUTTER AND STIR IN 1 1/2 CUP SUGAR, ADD ORANGE JUICE AND WHITE VANILLA. MIX INTO THE EGGS.ADD YEAST MIXTURE.
- SPRINKLE 3 CUPS OF FLOUR OVER TOP OF EGG MIXTURE SO THAT NO LIQUID IS SHOWING. MIX WITH SPOON THEN BY HAND
- ADD 1 CUP OF FLOUR AT A TIME TO THE 8 OR 9 CUPS ARE ADDED.
- LET RISE COVERED UNTIL DOUBLED IN SIZE.
- PUNCH DOWN
- SHAPE INTO LOAVES AND LET RISE AGAIN (1 HOUR)
- BAKE 350 DEGREE TIL GOLDEN BROWN 1 HOUR.
- BRUSH TOPS WITH MELTED BUTTER
