This meatloaf serves 8.
List of Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 slices soft bread, cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- chili sauce
- 1/2 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Mix meats to blend well. Stir in chopped onion, celery,, salt, poultry seasoning, pepper, dry mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Soak cubed bread in milk; add eggs then beat on low speed with a hand held mixer. Combine meat with egg mixture. Form into a large loaf; roll in dry bred crumbs and place in a greased shallow baking pan or jelly roll pan. Score top of meatloaf by pressing diagonal lines in the top with the handle of a wooden spoon or other utensil. Fill diagonal lines in with chili sauce. Pour boiling water around the loaf. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
