    Marsha's Sausage Balls

    List of Ingredients




    1 lb. regular or hot sausage (if using regular add some seasonings to spice it up)
    2 or more cups freshly shredded cheese
    1 to 2 cups baking mix (like Pioneer or Bisquick)(This depends on if you want more sausage or a biscuity type of product...I used two cups today and will cut it bake to at least 1 1/2 next time.)
    4 ounces cream cheese
    2 apples, peeled and grated

    Mix well. Roll into walnut-sized balls. Place on a cookie sheet. (I cover mine with non-stick aluminum foil.) Set oven to 350 degrees and bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Sometimes I turn mine over halfway through the baking...if I remember.

    The apple is optional. I couldn't taste it nor could anyone else, but I am sure that's what kept it moist eventhough I was heavy-handed with the baking mix. I'll keep adding it in the future.
