    Sweet and Spicy Meatballs

    List of Ingredients




    Meatballs:
    3/4 lb. lean (at least 80%) ground beef
    3/4 lb. ground pork (I used ground hot Italian sausage and I highly recommend doing this)
    1/3 cup plain bread crumbs
    1/3 cup finely chopped onion
    1/3 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
    3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1 egg, slightly beaten

    Sauce:
    1 cup red or amber hot jalapeno jelly
    2/3 cup apple juice
    2 tablespoons cornstarch
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    Recipe




    Heat oven to 375 cegrees. Line 15x15x1-inch pan with foil; grease foil (I just used non-stick foil.). In large bowl, mix all meatball ingredients until well blended. Shape into 1-1/4 inch meatballs. Place in pan.

    Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until browned and thoroughly cooked in center.

    In large saucepan, mix all sauce ingredients. Cook over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly.

    Add meatballs to sauce; stir to coat. Cook over medium-low heat 5 to 7 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.

    18 servings (2 meatballs each)
