    2 cups dried pinto beans
    Water
    6 slices bacon
    1 teaspoon minced garlic
    ¼ cup chopped onions
    1 can (10 ounces) Mexican tomatoes
    ¼ cup chopped cilantro (or ½ teaspoon dried)
    1 teaspoon salt
    ½ can beer, approximately

    Recipe



    Cover beans with water and cook in slow cooker (or saucepan) until beans are fairly tender. In skillet, fry bacon, minced garlic and chopped onions. Add tomatoes and cilantro. Stir together and add to beans. Continue cooking until beans are tender. When beans are tender, add salt and beer. (More of either could be added to taste.) Continue cooking 5-10 minutes.
