    Quick & Easy Taco Squares

    Source of Recipe

    Sandy H.

    Recipe Introduction

I served this with fruit salad, flour tortillas and salsa. Guacamole would also be good!

    List of Ingredients

1 8 ounce can Pillsbury Crescent rolls
    8 oz. lean ground beef
    3/4 cup chopped green pepper
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    15 oz. can tomato sauce
6 oz. can red kidney, OR pinto beans (optional)
    1 tablespoon taco seasoning
    3/4 cup shredded cheddar

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 375°. In a large skillet, brown ground beef and pepper and onion. Drain and add tomato sauce, beans if using, and taco seasoning. Lower heat and simmer until heated through. Meanwhile, pat crescent rolls in a 9x13 baking sheet which has been sprayed with Pam. Seal all perforations. Bake 6 to 8 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from oven and spread hot meat mixture over the browned crust. Continue baking an additional 10 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top and return to oven 5 minutes. Let set 2-3 minutes before cutting into squares. If desired, garnish each square with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkling of chopped fresh cilantro.
