    Cheddar Cheese Scones

    List of Ingredients




    2¼ cups self rising flour
    1 T sugar
    2 t baking soda
    1/4 cup minced fresh chives
    1 cup shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
    3/4 cup whole milk
    2 large eggs
    1 T vegetable oil
    2 t dijon mustard
    sesame seeds

    Recipe



    Preheat to 425. Sprinkle large rimmed baking sheet with flour.

    Combine first three ingredients in large bowl. Stir in cheese and chives.

    Whisk together milk, 1 egg, oil and mustard in small bowl. Gradually add milk mixture to dry, tossing until moist clumps form and adding more milk by tablespoonsful if dough is dry. Knead on lightly floured surface until dough comes together. Pat out onto a 1-inch thick round. Using a biscuit cutter, cut out scones. Gather dough scrapes and repeat. Whisk remaining egg in cup and brush over scones. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake until golden brwon ontop and center is clean with toothpick test, about 14 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes.
