    Garlic Bread from Millie

    Source of Recipe

    Millie

    Recipe Introduction

Italians use olive oil instead of butter to make it, too --not only does this give an added dimension of flavor, it also keeps the bread from burning

    List of Ingredients

1 loaf French or Italian bread (I generally use Italian cuz I make my own)

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (or melted butter )

1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Italian parsley

4~6 cloves garlic, pressed (or more to taste)

    Recipe

Heat the oven to 425°. Cut bread into 1-inch slices without cutting through to the bottom of the loaf. Mix the olive oil (or melted butter), parsley and garlic powder. Using your hands, spread it all over the bread, inside and out. Lay on a piece of aluminum foil sprinkle foil w/water (I stick fingers under faucet n flick onto foil ~ that’s bout enough) and bake for about 15 minutes or until heated through. For crispier bread, open up the foil last 5 minutes of baking.
