Walnut Cheddar Loaf

List of Ingredients
2½ cups flour
2 TBSP sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1¼ tsp salt
½ tsp dry mustard
½ tsp baking soda
Dash of cayenne pepper
¼ cup shortening
1 cup grated sharp Cheddar
½ tsp Worcestershire
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped walnuts
Recipe
Pre-heat oven to 350°
Sift together dry ingredients.
With pastry blender or finger tips, work in the shortening as though making pastry.
Stir in the cheese.
Combine Worcestershire, egg and buttermilk and stir into the flour mixture till just moistened.
Mix in the walnuts.
Turn into an greased loaf pan. Smooth top.
Bake about 55 minutes (45~50 works good for me butcha know my oven!
