3 c all-purpose flour
1 1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
4oz unsweetened chocolate
1/4 c strong brewed coffee
1 c butter, softened
3 c sugar
5 eggs
2/3 c whipping cream
2 t vanilla extract
2 T brandy

Recipe
Assemble ingredients and utensils. In bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Sift again and set aside. In double boiler, heat the chocolate and coffee. Stir constantly until smooth and satiny. Set aside to cool. In large bowl of mixer, combine the butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat hard until the mixture is smooth. Add the flour alternately with the chocolate/coffee mixture and whipping cream. Blend in the vanilla and brandy. Spoon batter into a well-greased and floured 10-inch tube or bundt pan and bake in a preheated 300° oven for 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 hours. Cool before slicing. Serve with whipped cream or your favorite sauce.
