    This pie can be frozen before adding the whipped topping.

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 bar (2 ounces) German chocolate
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    3 eggs
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 325 degrees. In small skillet, melt chocolate and butter together; let cool.

    In large bowl of electric mixer, beat eggs until foamy and gradually add sugar while beating. Blend in flour at slow speed. Add vanilla and chocolate mixture and beat until smooth. Stir in chopped nuts.

    Pour into a well- greased pie pan. Bake 35-40 minutes. Chill. Top with whipped cream and garnish with shaved chocolate or chopped nuts.
