George's Jus’ Plain Ol’ Chocolate Cake

    Source of Recipe

    by Marsha, from George

    Recipe Introduction

It’s good as it is. It doesn’t need frosting, sauce or ganache.

    List of Ingredients

1 pkg Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
1 pkg Jello Instant Chocolate Fudge Pudding Mix
    4 Eggs
    1 cup Sour Cream
1/2 cup Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Syrup (whatever you have on hand is fine, but the special dark is really good!)
1 cup Creme de Cacao (this comes in clear or dark, and I happen to use clear)
    1 T vanilla extract
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil (I use softened butter.)
    1 12 0z. pkg Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Chips (2 cups)

    Recipe

In a medium bowl, combine cake mix and pudding mix. Pulse with electric hand mixer. Set aside. In a large bowl mix all remaining ingredients EXCEPT chocolate chips. Add dry mixes to wet ingredients in large bowl. Mix on low speed for 1 minute. Stop and scrape sides of bowl. Mix on medium speed for 1 minute. Stop and scrape sides of bowl again. Add chocolate chips and mix on medium speed for 1 minute more. Turn into sprayed Bundt pan. Bake 60 to 70 minutes at 325 in conventional oven. Cool 20 minutes and turn out of pan.

*Check for doneness every 10 minutes starting at 60.

***You can use your favorite chocolate cake mix. I really like the Triple Chocolate BC cake mix, but today when I made it I used Duncan Hines Chocolate Mocha just because I needed to use it. I know from experience you can't go wrong with this recipe. Be prepared to swoon just from inhaling the wonderful chocolate aroma.
