    This is a good spicey, apple cake with the rows of apples peeking through the top. Needs Cool Whip.

    List of Ingredients




    ½ cup (1 stick) melted butter
    1 tsp Vanilla
    1 cup sugar
    ½ cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1½ tsp cinnamon
    1 cup flour
    4 - 5 large tart apples
    1 tsp baking powder

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350*.

    Grease 8x8" square baking dish. Combine butter, sugar and eggs in large bowl of mixer and beat thoroughly. Add flour, baking powder and vanilla and beat until well blended. Spread evenly in baking dish.

    Combine sugar and cinnamon. Peel and core apples and thinly slice into large bowl. Add cinnamon-sugar mixture to taste, coating apples thoroughly. Arrange slices on top of batter in over-lapping rows, pressing lightly into batter.

    Bake 1 hour. Cool and cut into squares.
