Jello "Poke" Cake

1 package white cake mix
2 egg whites
1 1/2 cups waer
1 3-ounce package jello, any flavor
1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water
Cool whip
Recipe
Prepare cake mix with egg whtes and 1½ cups water. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake as directed on package; let cool.
Meanwhile, prepare jello using boiling and cold water. Using a wooden spoon, poke holes in the cake at 1/2-inch intervals. Pour liquid jello mixture carefully into holes. Refrigerate 3 to 4 hours. Frost with Cool Whip. Keep refrigerated.
Also, if I remember correctly, you could sub Jello instant pudding prepared according to directions for the jello and water
