Texas Long Cake

CAKE:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 cup water
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
ICING:
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
5 tbsp. buttermilk
1 pound powdered sugar
Recipe
Combine flour and sugar, set aside. Combine butter, cocoa and water, bring to boiling and pour over flour & sugar, mixing well. Add eggs, baking soda, buttermilk, salt & vanilla, mixing well. Pour into jellyroll pan* and bake 20-25 minutes at 350°.
In the meantime, combine butter, cocoa and buttermilk for icing. Bring to boiling and beat in powdered sugar. When cake is baked, spread icing over hot cake. Allow to cool.
* a jellyroll pan measures 15" x 10" x 1" deep.
